Choppy Shooting

I have a few things to talk about now. First, I have shot 2 matches since the last time I posted on here… video is below:

JUNE

JULY

I have to say, I am doing less live fire this year than last year. Working as much as I have been has really taken its toll. I am actually doing more dry fire though. The results have been interesting. I am actually shooting better than I did last year. Both the classifiers at my last 2 matches were 100% scores. I haven’t had any penalties. The problem is that I am a little bit choppy the first couple stages, then I take off like a rocket.

I am thinking the problem is more mental than a training problem. Early on in the match I tend to bear down on the gun and tense up. I trigger freeze a bit more... I am choppy. I need to iron that out.

Coming up soon, I am off to Nebraska for Area 3. I do hate Nebraska… but I love shooting, so the trip should be worth it.
