Well well… here we go again. Area 5 2010 is in the bag.
My plan was simple… shoot like I don’t give a fuck. Mission accomplished!
Footage is HERE.
As you can see, I was fast! This is easily the fastest I have ever shot and moved through the stages. I was a wild man! I took risks left and right. The downside is also apparent from the video. As I am sure you can note, I made a lot of little mistakes. At one point I damn near fell over, I shot extras at steel, I shot on the move at really tough targets and had a lot of extra shots.
So… the plan is working. I need to keep going as hard and fast as I can in matches, and my overall score will improve, even if it is a bit sloppier. I hope that in time I am not so sloppy while going really fast, and then my score will really rock.
I did notice during this match that any sort of tension screwed my score. When I was TRYING to go fast, I was choppy and felt uncomfortable. When I felt loose, I was zippy as hell and very smooth. I think a lot of this had to do with normal match jitters… this was only my second match of the year.
In other news, many of you have probably seen my on the History Channel Show “Top Shot”. Yes, that was me. If you are a particularly avid reader of this site, you will note that a few months ago I was in California. Filming Top Shot is the reason for the trip, but I couldn’t say anything about it at the time. Obviously, it was great to be a part of the show. It was a cool feeling when the casting people for this show combed the face of the earth to come up with a Beretta 92fs expert, and they landed on me. In any event, getting my 15 minutes was cool. Now its time to get back to training.
